Position Description/Summary:

The primary objective is to create, promote, and conduct activities which contribute to communities being healthier places to live.

The Summer Student Worker will possess leadership qualities, demon­strate positive attitude, and possess a willingness to work on community projects. Some activities may include spring clean-up, culture camps, family camps, and other activities as directed.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Work closely in a mentoring environment with Family Service and Prevention Service workers

• Assist the Family Service and Prevention Service workers with various duties including attend meetings, planning session, training and family camp.
• Monitoring family visits and transporting clients/children in care as well
• Ability to work independently, and under supervision of the Family Service and Prevention staff
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Grade 12 Diploma
• Must be able to provide a recent and satisfactory Criminal Record check, Driver’s Abstract and Child Abuse Record check

The Summer Student Worker will be required to offer support in regard to general office functions as well as other duties as assigned by the Administrative Assistant, Administration Manager, Agency Director and other senior management.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Registers and maintains the Automated Client Index
• Assist the Administrative Assistant and Senior Management with various duties.
• Maintain Central Filing System.
• Keeps inventory and orders office supplies for all programs.
• Create, edit and design forms for internal & external use.
• Operate Switchboard: record, direct and retrieve messages.
• General Office Duties: photocopying, display board, coffee supplies, greeting visitors, pick up & distribute mail, etc.
• Monitor staff itinerary on a daily basis.
• Maintain boardroom bookings and Daily Display Board.
• Assists in maintaining Pitney Bowes: Mail Stamper & Scale and update as needed.
• Keep main reception area presentable to incoming/outgoing traffic.
• Other duties as assigned.

Prevention Services Worker 

in Hall Lake, Saskatchewan 

Position Description/Summary: 

Prevention Services Worker reports to the Prevention Services Supervisor. The primary objective is to work closely with Families and Family Services to ensure safety and wellbeing of children by decreasing the level of risk.  

Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Providing evidence based parenting programming to youth and families which will enable them to live in a healthy, functioning family unit. 

• Obtaining accreditation in a Best Practice parent training program. 

• Actively participate with Family Services and family group conferencing, case conferences, and case planning. 

• Provide educational awareness in schools to promote well-being. 

• Hosting workshops and seminars on appropriate parenting and life skills. 

• Developing promotional campaigns to bring awareness regarding parenting skills to a local level. 

• Working closely with all community resource personnel to establish services for families. 

• Referring to appropriate agencies for specific needs such as counseling services for families. 

• Advocating and assisting clients to remove barriers. 

• Coordinating family camps: large and mini groups, and family outings. 

• Maintaining accurate program files. 

• Other duties as assigned. 

Requirements: 

• Grade 12 or degree in a related field 

• Criminal Record, Valid Driver’s License and Driver’s Abstract Clearance
