Prevention Services Youth Worker 

in Little Red River, Saskatchewan 

Position Description/Summary: 

Prevention Services Youth Worker reports to the Prevention Services Youth Supervisor. The primary objective is to work with youth at risk by providing recreational opportunities that will promote healthy active lifestyles. This will be a term position until December 2026.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Providing evidence based parenting programming to youth and families which will enable them to live in a healthy, functioning family unit. 

• Obtaining accreditation in a Best Practice parent training program. 

• Actively participate with Family Services and family group conferencing, case conferences, and case planning. 

• Provide educational awareness in schools to promote well-being. 

• Hosting workshops and seminars on appropriate parenting and life skills. 

• Developing promotional campaigns to bring awareness regarding parenting skills to a local level. 

• Working closely with all community resource personnel to establish services for families. 

• Referring to appropriate agencies for specific needs such as counseling services for families. 

• Advocating and assisting clients to remove barriers. 

• Coordinating family camps: large and mini groups, and family outings. 

• Maintaining accurate program files. 

• Other duties as assigned. 

Requirements: 

• Grade 12 or degree in a related field 

• Criminal Record, Valid Driver’s License and Driver’s Abstract Clearance

SUMMER STUDENT WORKERS

Position Description/Summary:

The primary objective is to create, promote, and conduct activities which contribute to communities being healthier places to live.

The Summer Student Worker will possess leadership qualities, demon­strate positive attitude, and possess a willingness to work on community projects. Some activities may include spring clean-up, culture camps, family camps, and other activities as directed.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Work closely in a mentoring environment with Family Service and Prevention Service workers

• Assist the Family Service and Prevention Service workers with various duties including attend meetings, planning session, training and family camp.
• Monitoring family visits and transporting clients/children in care as well
• Ability to work independently, and under supervision of the Family Service and Prevention staff
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Grade 12 Diploma
• Must be able to provide a recent and satisfactory Criminal Record check, Driver’s Abstract and Child Abuse Record check

Position Description/Summary: 

The Case Aide will provide support to Child Protection and Family Services. 

Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Responsible for transporting children in care to and from home visits. 

• Attend calls with Child Protection and Family Services as needed. 

• Actively participate in Child Protection and Family Services networking and brainstorming. 

• Contact collateral services to verify attendance/progress in fulfilling client conditions. 

• Perform courtesy follow up on existing files. 

• Monitor family visits as required. 

• Responsible for document/file management, which includes scanning, shredding, and file maintenance. 

• Support caseworkers to ensure that files and documentation are up-to-date and accurate. 

• Complete Purchase Order documentation. 

• Cover off Intake Screener as necessary. 

• Have excellent computer skills with the ability to navigate Agency databases and computer systems 

• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and assess risks. 

• Other duties as assigned. 

Requirements: 

• Grade 12  

• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
