Causal & Emergency Services
La Ronge ICFS employs emergency duty workers in each of the communities served by the Agency. These staff are hired to provide intake services in the community during the hours that the office is closed. Emergency duty workers typically work from 4:30 pm to 8:00 am on week days and 24 hours on weekends and statutory holidays. Emergency duty workers are paid a casual hourly rate for carrying the phone and being available and receive an on-call rate of pay when they are attending a call in the community. Emergency duty workers report to a Manager on call at all times and must get authorization for any apprehensions. When children are apprehended after hours the Emergency duty workers are responsible for finding an alternate care or foster home placement and transporting the child to that home.
